Instructor - Warren Jones
|
Warren has over 29 years experience in the housing industry, as a custom home builder, trainer, facilitator and author. He has been on the forefront of many experimental and research housing projects and is committed to industry education and personal development. Warren began training for the home builders' association in 1981 and remains active in this role. Many years of business management training experience extends into other industries where he is called upon to present material that he has authored.
Since August 2006 Warren has been engaged as the Director of Training and Course Development for the Canadian Home Builders' Association of British Columbia. His many tasks require him to:
- Co-ordinate the updating of all six current CHBA-BC builder training courses and five new business management courses in preparation for "Master Builder" program designation.
- Facilitate the on-line development of all courses into a blended learning model accessible to all builders in the Province of British Columbia.
- Develop tests and exams that hold participants to a high standard.
- Research, assemble and provide continuity of all courses with content professionals (authors) of current and future courses.
- Ensure that all courses meet the "National Benchmark" as established by the Canadian Home Builders' Association.
- Plan for the development of an additional six courses that will complete the "Master Builder" program suite of courses.
- Work closely with industry partners and home builder associations in other provinces to successfully complete the entire development process.
- Raise awareness of this initiative within the industry and establish partnerships' to assist in the physical development of individual courses or through funding to support the overall project.
- Develop the outline and criteria for student development and further the Learning Management System required to handle the thousands of licensed builders in British Columbia.
