Instructor - Richard Kadulski





Richard Kadulski is a Vancouver architect who has specialized in healthy, energy-efficient, solar and climate-sensitive residential design for more than 30 years. He was project manager for the BC Advanced House in 1993, a showcase project featuring the latest in building technology, energy efficiency, environmental, and healthy housing concerns. He has been active on many industry technical bodies, and with the R-2000 Energy Efficient Home Program.

Currently he is a member on the National Research Council of Canada Standing Committee on Housing and Small Buildings (Part 9 of the National Building Code of Canada).

He is active with industry organizations, including the Canadian Home Builders' Association and the Architectural Institute of BC, and is technical coordinator for the R-2000 and Build-Green programs in BC. He is a trainer offering industry and public courses, including the seminars for the Built-Green™ Program for CHBA-BC. His contributions to the housing industry have been recognized by a number of local, provincial and national awards.

Since 1985 he has been Editor of SOLPLAN REVIEW, Canadas' journal of energy conservation, building science and building practice that provides the latest technical information on building technology for new and retrofit construction. He is the author of a number of books, including Heating Systems for Your New Home, House Construction in BC (an illustrated reference guide to the BC Building Code), and Residential Ventilation: Achieving Indoor Air Quality.
